Engage your Group with Outdoor Activities:

Double K Retreat Center’s dynamic group activities deliver guaranteed fun for groups of any size. We offer a wide variety of adventures on land and water, so your group is sure to find the perfect itinerary to suit its needs and goals. Land-based activities like the low-element ropes challenge course and adventure races are designed to promote team building and camaraderie. If you’d rather make a splash, try the Yakima, Wenatchee or Deschutes River rafting trips—you’ll make memories for a lifetime.  Double K Adventures offers groups a wide variety of quality program options including team building, character development, and leadership training. Our adventure program manager will work with your group to customize a program that will complement the purpose of your retreat or conference. Youth and adult groups from churches and Christian organizations have used Double K to enhance their ministry programs. Athletic or school teams as well as collegiate organizations of students and faculty have used Double K for leadership development and team building summits. Other program options also exist for school groups at every grade level that allow for hands-on learning. For every group our priority is to provide the highest quality programming at the most affordable rates.

Double K Retreat and Adventure Center also offers access to basketball and sand-pit volleyball courts, field games, swimming and on-property walking and hiking trails. You can’t go wrong!

Rafting is an exciting activity that generates adventure, teamwork, group bonding and memory making.   The elements of rating are designed for your group to experience and promote communication, cooperation and team mentality.

Double K Adventures have not only experienced river guides but also leaders who share life principles and character building curriculum and spiritual truths during teachable moments.  Guides are concerned that your group safely enjoys their raft trip while enjoying water fights and learning about rafting and the river coupled with communication, character or spiritual enrichment.  Single or three day downriver trips available where we camp on the rivers bank and have plenty of time to talk about spiritual truths, get to know each other better or play raft games or shoot the rapids.  Water fighting is a separate activity because it requires you learn how to throw water with a bucket.

Fun, beautiful float trips through canyons on the Yakima River are from a few hours to an overnighter or two which can be added to enhance a facility retreat on our 177 acres.

The Deschutes River in Oregon is a class 3 river where we offer from one to six day experiences.  We can custom make a trip to meet your groups’ goals and objectives.  All of our guides have been trained to NFPA [National Fire Protection Association] standards in white-water rescue through

Climbing Wall:

Double K has two climbing venues for your groups!   A 20’ climbing wall with easy to difficult climbs and a natural rock cliff on our property.  Schedule time (through our office) for your group to experience either the climbing wall or the natural rock climbing wall with our trained facilitators and belayers.  Our staff will help your group members by giving instruction, put on their harness, tying into the ropes, enable your summer climbing experience and facilitate personal, character-building or spiritual questions.

Challenge Course (low elements):

The Low-Elements Challenge Course winds through one of the many wooded areas of the Double K Retreat & Adventure Center.  There are many different challenge games for different skill-level groups.  The tasks presented develop aspects of community and teamwork such as trust, communication, team encouragement, self-confidence, personal growth and promotes an over-comer mentality.  Group sizes of 12 to 18 are best.  Larger groups can be broken down to smaller group sizes.   Double K’s Adventure Program offers the opportunity for self- discovery and group development in each of its program components.  ADVENTURE EDUCATION (rafting, wall or rock climbing, challenge course) PROVIDES A CATALYST FOR GROWTH.

“Go Take A Hike”:

Take a hike on one of the many trails on Double K’s 177 acres on the ridge behind out buildings.  You will find a great variety of plants and wildlife.  We also have flat walking trails if participants are interested in a more casual stroll on our perimeter trail.  You have other trail choices.  Take a trail to our lake and cross one of our two bridges.  The covered bridge is one of only two covered bridges in the state or cross our new cedar log walking bridge.  No matter which trail you choose you are sure to have a great time.  Don’t forget the John Wayne Trail runs along the north side of our property and it runs from Seattle all the way to Idaho.

 Character Development:

Double K Adventures offers groups more than just the experience of completing a challenge course.  The core of Double K Adventures is not in our unique team building facilities, but in the quality of our programs.  All of our programs are adaptable to your students’ needs!  In addition to our group initiatives (challenge) courses we are developing programs for private & public schools with lesson plans that cover Outdoor Education & Character Development.  Our Character Development Courses are substantive, age appropriate, pre-designed programs that supplement classroom activities that inspire personal character or spiritual growth.
